I have a two-digit combination lock in my life. We've been getting along fine. No complaints on either side. Then one day, out of the blue, my brain hit a glitch and I began to thumb my high-school locker combination. If you had asked me to recite it before that moment I would have drawn a complete blank and laughed it off. But now it sits at the ready just waiting to burst out. And when it does, it's like a childhood rhyme I don't remember learning but always knew and with the smallest trigger am able to regurgitate it at length and without pause. Now, if I could just harness some of that energy to remember things like birthdays, 4H meetings and two-digit lock combinations, I'd be in good shape.
