Dahlia Bouquets
September 28, 2026
When last we left my garden, it was a sad tale about all of the disappointments. Now it’s time to talk about some of the successes. Specifically this year’s dahlias. This is the first year that I put them in the garden. I bought them online ages ago, stuck them in the ground and then waited forevvvvvvver for them to start growing. I figured they were dead. It must have been the middle of July before the first green sprout made an appearance. Even then, they weren’t all that much to look at. Just a bunch of green leaves. But in the last few weeks they have burst open and are putting on quite a show. The other flowers in the garden are doing their best to keep up. Thank goodness. It means that I was able to put both of these arrangements together using only things from my garden. I’m already looking forward to next year’s bouquets. Maybe I need to plant more flowers… The answer is yes. Definitely more flowers.
